As a general rule the curb should be placed directly on the roof support members. Specifications prefabricated roof curb to be manufactured of prime galvanized steel construction 20 18 16 or 14 gauge as required meeting astm a653 653m with welded corners and with seams joined by continuous water and air tight welds. Pressure treated nailers should be provided by the curb manufacturer to receive roofing felts and eliminate noise transfer. If the roof curb will be mounted on a new building it can be assembled at any convenient location and installed as soon as the roof support members are in place.

The curb can also be mounted on a roof deck. They can be selected to fit the specific type of roof such as flat pitched or ridged. There are many options available to make sure all building requirements are met. Roof curbs are support structures for fans and ventilators.
